The arrival of spring has been a welcome prospect after an especially harsh winter here in the Northeast. For those of us at NYAC-JFON, the arrival of spring has been a double blessing, as the new season coincides with exciting new opportunities for growth in our ministry.

Several months ago, we reestablished our connection to Brooklyn Law School and its Immigrant Visa Assistance Project, a program started by a law student who worked for NYAC-JFON in 2011. The connection had fallen into abeyance during our transition in 2012-13, and so we are excited to be working with law students once again. You can read more about the program below.

Plans for a fourth immigration clinic, our first on Long Island, continue to proceed on schedule. The Church Council of Hicksville United Methodist Church voted last month to approve a clinic at their church, and the church is now in the process of filing out the paperwork required by our national office in Washington, DC and getting ready for initial volunteer training sessions.
